March Update

Spring is just around the corner if you are somewhere in the southwest.  Doesn't look like anytime soon around here. While it's hard to think about golf with another big snow on the horizon it is important to plan ahead.

Registration for the July majors opens tomorrow at 11:00 AM CST, Niagara Falls, Pinehurst, Turning Stone, Barton Creek and Chambers Bay. You can expect all of them to sell out quickly but Pinehurst and Chambers Bay may fill up in minutes.  So if these are on your list of places to play you should be online and quick with the click.

There are a few more spots for BlackWolf Run in Kohler, WI.  We have 18 players in the field so far.  This is the closest major all season.

I'll be attending the USGA/PGA Rules Workshop later this month to make sure I'm prepared for another season.  You should also take some time to brush up on the rules.  There is an excellent video series that explains the more common rules issues you may be faced with during a tournament.  I encourage you to visit usga-rules.com/mobile/.

Now is also a good time to start your season prep.  Not sure if you're in shape to play your best yet?  Here is a simple test to help you determine what to work on, dummies.com/how-to/sports-outdoors/golf/Getting-Fit-for-Golf.html. Start off slow and steady.  Don't want anyone getting hurt trying to jump start the season.
