We're Putting the Band Back Together

Everybody has arrived safely in the desert for the Senior National Championship.  Things kicked off tonight with the Players dinner.  David Fehery was the guest speaker.  He was interviewed by Golf Channels VP of Production in charge of all of the original programming.  Of course the night was full of funny stories but there were lots of poignant moments as well.  David was awarded the Distinguished Citizens Award by the Medal of Honor Association yesterday in Knoxville for his foundations work.  Later he interviewed Mark Brooks, Sr. Tour player and 1996 PGA champion.  Below you will see some great pictures including a look at the nearly $103,000 check given to David Feherty's Troops First Foundation.  Something you all had a hand in with your generous donations.  David was genuinely surprised and gratified.  He said that the award he was given was actually "our" award because it is golfers like us that make the donations that provide the support for his cause.
Afterwards the group got together for a picture around this years championship trophies and a photo opportunity with David Feherty.

Ed Favorite was in this photo but not Mike Miller who arrived late.  The picture below Ed got away but we got Mike in.

Thank you for supporting this effort all year long.

Some of the wives ditched their husbands for a picture with David.

Here are the players competing this week.
Dan Geske - Championship
Dean Dubrueil, John Juntilla, Marc Redman and me - Palmer
Paul Alexander, Dan Barrett and Ed Favorite - Sarazen
Vicki Burns and Warren Ferber - Jones
Todd Klock, Mike Miller and Pete Rojas - Snead
The weather forecast for the week is indicating possibly more significant rain later in the week.  I'll keep you posted.  Players who got in practice rounds today commented on the ravenous mosquitos.  Rain and mosquitos.  I'm thinking these are good omens for Team MN.  Let's go!  Updates all week
