1 Down 3 To Go

The first round is in the books. A pretty nice day, 103 but a dry heat.

Marc Redman is on top of the leaderboard in Palmer flight after shooting a 77 on the Raptor course. He had a tough start going double, bogey, double on the back nine but then shot even par the rest of the way helped by a birdie on each side. I also had a tough start playing bogey golf all the way through the front nine but hopped off the train for most of back nine shooting a 39 for a total of 84 putting me at T34 out of 96 players. John Juntilla shot an 85 and sits at T46. He had 2 birdies but like all of us suffered a couple of doubles. Dean Dubreuil had a nightmare round. I'm sure he'll be looking to rebound tomorrow.

Dan Geske shot a 78 in the Championship flight on the Talon course. His round featured 2 birdies but he also suffered a double. He is T10 in a flight of 36.

The Sarazen flight is one of the largest at 153 players. Paul Alexander shot an 87 at Talking Stick South course. His round included 3 birdies and he sits at T36. Dan Barrett and Ed Favorite had rough starts shooting 96 (T119) & 98 (T134) respectively.

Warren Ferber and Vicki Burns, competing in the Jones flight on the Talon course, are within one stroke of each other at 97 (T60) and 98 (T64). Their flight has 119 players.

Todd Klocke shot 95 and is T6 while Mike Miller shot 96 and is in 9th. Todd's back nine of 44 featured a birdie on the 18th. Pete Rojas shot 113 for 47th. There are 58 players in the Snead flight that played the Raptor course today.
