Round 4 No More

The temp today was double what it was in Mpls. 6 National Champioship trophies would be awarded. 6 players would go home very happy, about 600 others would go home lamenting that missed putt or chunked chip shot or errant drive and vowing to work even harder to get ready for next year. Among them were our fellow MN tour members.

Anthony Hugelen had the best finish (Hogan flight) among our crew. His 80 on the Talon course today matched his 80 yesterday on the Raptor course. He moved into a tie for 16th place out of a field of 155 players which puts him in the money.

Our 3 Palmer players also likely did well enough to cash. Sean's 79 today put him in a tie for 28th place. Jeff Gallagher's steady play all week put him into a tie for 20th and Mike Kelley finished in a tie for 33rd.

Nathan Petersen had a second tough day. His 83 on the Raptor course put him in a tie for 43rd and out of the money.

Bruce Mills and Matt Harter wound up in a tie for 53rd place though they took very different paths to get there. Bruce shot upper 80s the first 3 rounds and finished with a 95. You may recall that Matt Harter was having a tough time shooting in the 90s each day and maybe it was my comment yesterday that he might finally shoot something in the 80s given his 90 yesterday and his improving scores each day. Whatever it was he shot a fabulous 79 to jump nearly 40 places. I asked him what changed and he said he just couldn't get off the tee in the first three rounds but today he let the big
 dog eat.

I'm sure they will relax a bit now before heading home to start preparing for next year.  Congratulations to them. I hope they had an enjoyable experience.

Now I can't wait for the rest of the Seniors to join Mary and I here in the desert. You know we're gonna have a good time next week. I'll send updates starting Monday night.
