3 Down 1 To Go

We dodged storms today. Talking Stick got hit about noon with a heavy rain for about an hour but Grayhawk only had a drizzle early morning. Everybody got their round in and the forecast seems to be improving for tomorrow.

Marc Redman improved his position in Sr. Palmer today with a 78 on the North course. He started his round with a birdie and added two more on the back nine. Like so many of us he also suffered a couple of unusual setbacks with two doubles and an "other". He sits in a tie for 2nd place only 3 shots behind the leader. John Juntilla found some of his usual form today to shoot a 79 moving up to a tie for 60th place. My round of 83 (T37) got off track on the second hole where I took a 10 on a par 5. The only highlight was a birdie on 18 as we just beat the rain. Dean Dubreuil shot a 90. His birdie came on the par 5 17th. We all take on the South course for our final round.

Dan Geske shot his low round thus far with a 75 on the South course. He had a couple of birdies on the front nine and limited the damage to a handful of bogies. He is T13 and needs another good round on the North course tomorrow to move into the money of the Sr. Championship.

Ed Favorite leads the Sr. Sarazen trio in 90th place. His 92 was the best of the bunch today on Raptor. Paul Alexander shot 102 and Dan Barrett shot 94 leaving them one shot behind Ed and T98. They are paired together tomorrow on the Talon course so anything could happen.

In the Sr. Jones flight Warren Ferber shot his low round of the tournament with a 91 and is tied for 46th while Vicki Burns shot a 92 and is T29. Vicki leads the head to head battle between them by 4 shots. They'll play the North course to wrap up the tournament.

Pete Rojas shot his low round thus far with a 102 on the North course. He is T47. Todd Klocke shot a 96 and is now in 8th place. He is 11 behind the leader but a big swing is possible on any hole tomorrow on the South course in the Sr. Snead flight. A good round should guarantee him a money finish. Or should I say more money. In late news after going to press Tuesday night, Todd won another SKIN on day 2. Cha Ching!

Tonight many of us got together for a cookout dinner hosted by Kathleen and Dan Barrett in their rental home. This was othe highlight of the week as we all got a chance to catch up, commiserate and enjoy each other's company in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. I was also able to share with everyone that at our Tour Directors meeting last week I was recognized as the Director of the year in the South Central region due mostly to our membership growth and the increase in the number of rounds played. I share this honor with all of you because it's really your award. I appreciate your active participation and will continue to work hard to earn your renewals and referrals.

Go Team MN!
