Chaska Recap

Chaska - another day of rain on us.  This time the wind blew very hard as well.  We didn't escape completely but we got it in before the really heavy stuff.  Thanks to all of you who braved the elements.

Sydney Jackson, of the Championship flight, won for the first time on tour with an 81 for a 4 shot victory.  Two time champion Dan Geske took the early lead with a front nine 40, including birdies on 5 & 7 but he stumbled on 12 & 13 while Sydney shot a nice little 39 on the back side.

Mike Kelley had the low score of the day with a 79 in Palmer flight and an 8 shot margin.  Mike's round included 4 birdies.

Ms. Vicki Burns wins her first event since returning in the Sr. Hogan flight.

Fredy Alvear tops the Sarazen flight with an 86 and a handfull of previous flight champions chasing behind.  His front side 42 got him out in front.  Dan Barrett outscored him on the back side but it wasn't enough to catch Fredy.

Pete Rojas jumped out to a nine shot lead on the front 9 aided by a birdie on the difficult 9th which was playing straight into the 30 mph wind.  There just weren't enough holes left at that point for Todd Klocke to catch him.

Pete Rojas also won the Troops First Foundation 50/50 raffle worth $65 (and he won a skin so he had a pretty good Father's day).  Thanks for continuing to support this worthy cause.  We have collected $325 thus far.

Our next event is Sunday at StoneRidge.  There are still 2 spots left until Wednesday at 11:00 PM.

Welcome to our 2 newest members.  They will both be playing at StoneRidge.
- Anthony Hugelen, of Apple Valley, will be playing in the Palmer flight.
- Jim Stinson, of Stillwater, will be playing in Sr. Sarazen.
