I hope you had a chance to get on the course last week.  Looks like this week will be more torture than tantalizing, being able to see a clean and clear golf course but probably too cold to play much.  Remeber that you should now be entering your casual rounds into our handicap system.  If you also have a GHIN account you should make sure that both systems reflect the same handicap.

Registration for Rush Creek is going well.  Just a reminder that the registration deadline for all events is one week before as most courses require that I commit to the number of players.  For example, the deadline for Rush Creek is Saturday night the 26th at 11:00PM (the system shows 12:01 EDT on the 27th).  You may cancel up until the deadline without cost as I don't charge your credit card until after the deadline (note: this policy is different than most every other tour and the regional majors).  So go ahead and register for any event you want on our local schedule if you plan to play.  It always help others, who may be on the fence, when they see a nice full field.

Now is a great time for all of us to recruit our friends, relatives and casual playing partners to join the tour.  Once the season starts there is always the excuse to wait until next year.  Remind them that membership is a full year from whenever they join.  I'll be at Golf Galaxy in Bloomington this Saturday from 10-6.  Send your friends, or bring them in, so I can help twist their arm.  I'll be at the other 3 stores in May, May 3rd in Plymouth, May 24th in Roseville and the 31st in Woodbury.  Anyone who talks with me at one of these locations and subsequently joins will receive a $25 Golf Galaxy gift card at their first event. Make sure you tell anyone you refer to provide your name so that you will receive the $80 GOLF NOW referral bonus.

Congratulations to Pete Rojas, Sr. Snead, who finished T2 at the Bayou Classic in Lake Charles, LA.  His first round 89 put him in contention and a solid 95 in the second round locked in the top 3 finish which qualifies him for Sr. Nationals and I know he's looking forward to the trip.

Congrats also to Jeff Gallagher, Palmer.  Jeff took home the hardware from Otter Creek in Ankeny, IA last Saturday shooting a 73.  His low round of the day featured 4 birdies on surprisingly fast greens.  Also at Otter Creek, new member Johnnie Adams, Hogan, got into a playoff with an 84 in his first event on tour as did Warren Ferber, in Sr. Jones, with an 88.  Thanks to all 7 members who took the road trip with me.

Welcome to new member Dean Sengstock of Shakopee who will be playing in Palmer.  Thanks to Ryan Howard for his referral.

Here's hoping your course opens soon if it hasn't already and spring returns quickly.
