Opening Day

Opening Day is finally here.  Let's play golf!  Registration for our local tournament schedule is now open.

Well, depending on where you live in the frozen tundra you may not quite be able to play just yet but it can't be much longer can it?  As I write this I can see grass on the 12th hole at The Wilds, my home course.  Unfortunately I still have to look across the snow piled up in my front yard but with the promise of some near 50 degree days later this week there is a good chance of playing rather than just watching during The Masters tournament next week. A few of our members will be headed to the Missouri Valley Championship.  For the rest of us there is always the opportunity for a quick trip to Iowa to play if your itching to get going. The DesMoines tour opener is April 20 if your so inclined. Post a comment when you finally get on the course for the first time.

By now you've either started your fitness and swing preparations for the coming season or you don't need it (I hate you).  But for those of you that are still looking for some guidance in this area here is a link to an article in Men's Health magazine where you'll find exercises for flexibility, power and mechanics.  Let us know if you've got a program that's working for you.

Several of our members have played in AmTour events already this season.  One of the best benefits of membership is being able to play when you travel (or travel to play).  Congrats to all.  Post a comment about your experience.
Todd Klocke of St. Cloud finished 6th at Kiawah in Feb. and 2nd at Sheep Mountain in March.
Sean Hazen from Winnipeg finished 2nd at Sun City, Palm Desert in January.
Pete Rojas of Champlin finished T4 at Horseshoe Bay in Mar.
Matt Harter of Eagan finished 7th at the Miccosukee Open in Feb.
Corey McGuire of Plymouth finsihed T12 at TPC Sawgrass in Jan.
Paul Alexander of Chaska finished 14th at Horseshoe Bay in Mar.
